PARKLAND — The first of two memorials honoring four Lakewood police officers who were killed by a gunman last year has been dedicated.
Monday is the one-year anniversary of the deaths of Sgt. Mark Renninger and officers Ronald Owens, Tina Griswold and Greg Richards.
The four were gunned down at Forza Coffee Shop in Parkland. After a two-day manhunt, suspect Maurice Clemmons was fatally shot by Seattle police officer Benjamin Kelly.
A memorial was dedicated Sunday afternoon outside the coffee shop.
The memorial features four flag poles. A blue police badge is etched on the ground.
The second memorial will be dedicated Monday at the headquarters of the Lakewood police.
