Sea Mar Community Health Centers
Sea Mar Community Health Centers provides bilingual, bicultural outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling to individuals, groups, and families. It’s in its 30th year as a comprehensive health care agency, with clinics and service sites in 10 Washington counties: Clark, Franklin, Grays Harbor Island, King, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston and Whatcom.
Sea Mar accepts Medicaid and does not ask for proof of residence or other kinds of identification. It accepts insurance and charges a co-pay depending on the insurance program. Uninsured clients have discount options depending on income and family size.

Other resources that offer some counseling services for minorities and youth in the region:
Consejo Counseling and Referral Service provides mental health services, substance abuse counseling and domestic violence help. Charges depend on clients’ income. It accepts Medicaid in some cases. Documentation is not required. 3808 S. Angeline St., Seattle, WA 98118; 206-461-4880.
Asian Counseling and Referral Service is multicultural nonprofit mental counseling organization that helps the Asian Pacific Americans in King County. It accepts insurance, Medicare and Medicaid. Clients must provide photo ID. Showing proof of legal residence is elective. Uninsured clients must pay the full charge. Costs depend on the type of session. Northwest Family Therapy Institute works with families and communities on depression, anxiety and other emotional problems. Services are available in Spanish and English. It does not accept Medicare or Medicaid. Discounts depend on clients’ income. It does not require documents for service.

How to find help
Hope Guest Home provides shelter and helps women with mental health problems and counseling. Half of the costs are paid by a mental health agency that refers the patient. The other half is paid by Social Security. 915 S. Seventh. St., Tacoma; 253-627-3620
Providence Everett Healthcare Clinic provides family counseling services. Interpreters are available by special arrangement. 1001 N. Broadway, Suite A-3 (College Plaza Shopping Center), Everett. Call 425-317-0300 for information or to reach the interpreting line call 1-888-574-7127.
Compass Health
Provides counseling services to individuals and families, including those with limited English speaking abilities, such as Hispanics, Eastern Europeans, and Asian and Pacific Islanders. In Snohomish County, services are available in Edmonds, Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville, Monroe, Mukilteo, Smokey Point and Snohomish.
In Island County, offices are on Camano Island and in Coupeville and Langley.
In Skagit County, offices are in Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley.
And in San Juan County, offices are in Friday Harbor and Eastsound and on Lopez Island.
The service offers translators whenever possible.
Behavioral health services are provided in conjunction with a primary care clinic.
Compass accepts Medicaid, Medicare, Crime Victims Compensation and Champus. It also provides services at different costs depending on need.
