WALLA WALLA — Two 13-year-old middle school students in Walla Walla have been arrested for marijuana possession.
A school resource officer at Pioneer Middle School arrested one student Wednesday after a small amount of marijuana was found in his locker the previous day.
The officer arrested another student after a search of his backpack uncovered what was believed to be marijuana in a zip-lock bag, three smaller baggies with marijuana and four empty baggies.
That student was arrested on felony charges of marijuana possession with intent to deliver. Police spokesman Tim Bennett couldn’t say exactly how much marijuana was found, but that it was less than a pound and enough to show intent to distribute it.
Both students have been detained at the Walla Walla County Juvenile Justice Center.
