MILL CREEK — A fast-moving brush fire burned an abandoned building in Mill Creek Friday afternoon.
The building was near 132nd Street SE and 39th Avenue SE. Firefighters were called out around 1:30 p.m.
Flames spread quickly because of the wind, said Heather Chadwick, a spokeswoman with Snohomish County Fire District 7. Crews stopped the fire before it could reach nearby homes and a construction site.
Firefighters were looking for any lingering hot spots as of 2:30 p.m.
The fire prompted the closure of 132nd Street SE between 39th Avenue SE and 44th Avenue SE.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
