MILL CREEK — One person was found dead after a Mill Creek house fire Wednesday morning, according to South County Fire.
At 11:26 a.m., South County firefighters responded to a house fire in the 15300 block of 25th Drive SE. Smoke and flames were coming from the garage of a two-story house, spokesperson Leslie Hynes said.
Firefighters had the fire under control within 10 minutes, containing the flames to the garage, according to fire officials.
Once the fire was extinguished, investigators found a male dead inside the garage, authorities said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the deceased had not been publicly identified. His age was unclear.
The cause of the fire was unknown. South County Fire and the Mill Creek Police Department were conducting a joint investigation.
