Mill Creek police commander hired by Liquor and Cannabis Board

MILL CREEK — Police Cmdr. Ken Neaville is resigning to take a post with the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board.

City officials were notified this week that Neaville, 54, plans to change jobs in September.

“Ken has been a valuable member of this department for 27 years and it has been my honor and privilege to serve with him,” Mill Creek Police Chief Bob Crannell said in a news release issued Thursday.

Neaville was named commander, the department’s second highest rank, in 2011. His experience includes supervising the field training program, coordinating basic and advanced training, and teaching DARE classes at local schools.

There are no plans to fill the commander position due to an ongoing overhaul of city government. The police department is budgeted to have 26 officers altogether.
