MOUNT VERNON — Police are looking for a woman who took her 17-day-old baby from a Mount Vernon hospital against medical advice.
Skagit Valley Hospital spokeswoman Kari Ranten says the baby is medically fragile.
The hospital did not disclose details of the baby’s condition, but The Skagit Valley Herald reports the boy could be going through drug withdrawal.
Mount Vernon Police are looking for Nicole Hulse, who has ties to Oak Harbor. She may be driving a gold 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue, license 749ZMT.
An alarm at 5:12 a.m. today alerted hospital staff that the mother had cut a locator bracelet. She walked out with her son.
Police say Child Protective Services was in the process of seeking custody.
