MONROE — Fire caused about $150,000 damage to a Monroe home late Wednesday, displacing a family of five and sending one resident to the hospital with burns.
The blaze was reported about 10:15 p.m. in the 17000 block of Highway 203, Monroe Fire District spokeswoman Richelle Risdon said.
Investigators believe a man was working on a van in a detached garage when gasoline fumes caught fire, which spread to the home.
The fire affected traffic on the highway for several hours.
