School board members in Monroe met Monday for the first time since the high school announced it would address recent acts of racial intimidation among students.
White school leaders and parents must make addressing the concerns of minorities a priority, board President Tom MacIntyre said. “We have to be careful that we not become passive,” he said.
Administrators continue to meet with parents and community members, as well as teachers, to tackle racism issues on campus, Superintendent Bill Prenevost said.
