MONROE – The Monroe School District on Thursday sent letters home to families of elementary and middle school students about a possible incident of luring that happened last week Friday.
Two children were walking on 154th Street SE toward Fryelands Elementary School when a light-skinned man with a mustache pulled up in a white minivan and asked them repeatedly to get in the car with him, district spokeswoman Rosemary O’Neil said.
The children refused and hurried off to school. Monroe Police were notified.
Fryelands Elementary families were told of the incident in a letter Wednesday, the day the school district learned of it. Other schools were to send letters home Thursday.
