SPOKANE — State wildlife agents tranquilized a moose that wandered into an RV parking lot east of Spokane, just off I-90 at the Barker Road exit.
A Fish and Wildlife Department spokeswoman, Madonna Luers, says the 2-year-old female was loaded into a horse trailer today and hauled to a remote area on the east side of Mount Spokane.
Luers says agents have to escort or move about a dozen moose a year that get in the way in Spokane County. She says this moose had to be tranquilized because it was too close to the freeway.
Luers says it was moved to an area with good habitat and “hopefully she’ll stay up there and be a moose.”
