The following students were awarded university-sponsored scholarships through the National Merit program: Griffin Thompson, Monroe, University of Central Florida; Ankur Handa, Kamiak, Washington State University; and Christopher Bianchini, Glacier Peak, Montana Sate University-Bozeman.
Bianchini also was named a 2017 Montana State University Provost Scholar, one of the university’s most prestigious scholarships. Recipients receive an annual stipend plus a tuition waiver. The scholarship is good for four years if they maintain their academic standing. The Glacier Peak valedictorian plans to study mechanical engineering at MSU.
