Don’t be surprised if you wake up to more snow in your back yard.
Most areas in Snohomish County can expect up to 1 inch of snow this morning and rain in the afternoon, National Weather Service in Seattle reported.
Temperatures below freezing were expected overnight, so the morning commute is likely to be slippery.
A winter storm was expected to hit Western Washington this morning, with the greatest amounts of snow falling across the Olympic Mountains. Forecasters issued no warnings for Snohomish County.
Students and parents can learn more about small learning communities at Marysville School District’s high school campuses at three upcoming information nights.
The sessions are from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 18 and Feb. 23 in the large cafeteria at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, 5611 108th St. NE.
The question-and-answer evenings include descriptions of the academic programs offered at small schools within the MPHS campus as well as other programs across the school district.
The Maltby Food Bank, which serves the southeast corner of Snohomish County, needs volunteers to help plan its fifth annual fundraiser. The first planning meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Maltby Cafe, 8809 Maltby Road, Snohomish.
