Supporters of health care reform say 700 people plan to attend a rally this afternoon before a health care town hall meeting in Everett.
The rally is set to begin at 3 p.m. at Everett Memorial Stadium complex. The town hall-style forum hosted by Congressman Rick Larsen is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the AquaSox ballpark at the complex.
“The last I checked there were 723 people who RSVPed” for the rally, said Dustin Lambro, state director of Organizing For America, which rallies Democratic supporters for President Barack Obama policies. “These are people who absolutely want to see health care reform.”
The forum is expected to also draw hundreds of people as well. At similar town hall meetings across the country, large groups of opponents also have organized to question the health care legislation.
Calls to Larsen’s office to learn more about the format of tonight’s meeting have not been returned.
