MARYSVILLE – Cascade Elementary School is no longer under lockdown, school officials said.
The school was locked down late this morning after Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies alerted school officials they were looking for a man who ran from them during a traffic stop.
A deputy stopped a car in the 9600 block of 55th Street NE. The driver was detained but the passenger fled. It is unclear why the man ran , sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
“As a safety precaution we always do a lockdown,” Marysville School District spokeswoman Judy Parker said.
The school was locked down for less than 30 minutes, she said.
