It was a dream come true for a fan of Motley Crue. For one night, he filled in for injured drummer Tommy Lee.
The lucky guy, Harvey Warren, performed with the rock band Wednesday at the Enmax Center in Red Deer, Alberta, Motley Crue’s publicist, Dvora Vener Englefield, said.
“After playing multiple shows wearing a brace and taking anti-inflammatory injections, Tommy Lee’s doctor instructed him to give his injured right-hand wrist a break after his tendinitis made it difficult for him to perform,” Englefield said.
Warren, a Calgary resident who manages a Starbucks by day, moonlights as a drummer in the Canadian band Broken Toyz.
Lee, 43, hopes to return for a concert Friday in Prince George, Englefield said. There are six dates left on the tour.
Meredith Vieira will replace Couric on ‘Today’
NBC did not wait long. One day after Katie Couric announced that she is leaving the “Today” show, the network will announce Thursday that Meredith Vieira is the new co-host of the top-rated morning show.
Vieira, a onetime “60 Minutes correspondent,” will be leaving her perch at ABC’s all-female talk show, “The View,” and will no longer dispense the big bucks on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”
Although Vieira was satisfied with her current situation and concerned about her three children and her husband, Richard Cohen, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, she decided after discussions with her family that the “Today” opportunity was too tempting to reject.
