EVERETT — A 19-year-old passenger on a motorcycle suffered serious injuries Sunday night in Everett in a crash after which a teen fled the scene with the damaged bike, according to police.
The young woman had just left a gathering. She was on the back of a Suzuki motorbike driven by a boy, 17. At about 8:45 p.m. he crashed into a concrete wall three blocks away, in the 1900 block of W Mukilteo Boulevard, Everett police said.
Another boy, 17, arrived and loaded the bike into the bed of his Ford Ranger, and they left the scene without the injured woman, according to police.
She was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Later she was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.
Officers tracked down the suspected rider and his friend in the pickup. They were interviewed and released pending an investigation, according to police.
Both vehicles were impounded as evidence.
