Motorcyclist dies after collision near Snohomish

SNOHOMISH — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon after striking another vehicle in unincorporated Snohomish County.

Sheriff’s deputies were called out around 1:30 p.m. to the crash on the 12700 block of Springhetti Road, south of Snohomish city limits.

The rider was trying to pass other vehicles ahead of him, sheriff’s Lt. Monte Beaton said. He was ejected from the bike when he hit another vehicle whose driver was attempting to make a lawful left turn.

The deceased rider’s age was unavailable later that afternoon, Beaton said.

Traffic tie-ups were expected in the area later in the day as deputies investigated what happened.
