SULTAN – Detectives this afternoon were investigating a fatal motorcycle accident on U.S. 2.
A Sultan man, 47, was riding a motorcycle westbound on U.S. 2 about 3:30 p.m. when a Honda sedan pulled out in front of him on Rice Road, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The motorcycle struck the Honda and the motorcycle’s driver was killed.
The Honda’s driver, a 16-year-old Marysville girl, and a passenger, a 17-year-old Snohomish boy, were not injured in the crash.
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the accident, Hover said.
Transportation crews closed U.S. 2 in both directions at the scene of the crash, but a detour was set up.
