MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — A drunken driving arrest Thursday night in Mountlake Terrace turned up nine pounds of marijuana-laced butter and led police to a grow operation.
It started when officers stopped a man who was driving just before midnight in the 21900 block of 76th Avenue SW, Mountlake Terrace Assistant Police Chief Pete Caw said.
During a search of the man’s vehicle, officers found the butter, which they believe was cooked with marijuana.
“It is then used in cooking or simply consumed for its effects,” Caw said.
Police gained information they used to a serve a search warrant on a home in the neighborhood of 224th Street SW and 62nd Avenue W.
The home was raided Friday morning and one person was arrested, Caw said.
During the search, police found evidence of a dismantled marijuana grow operation that held as many as 100 plants. Detectives also seized 20 starter plants, about three more pounds of marijuana butter and seven pounds of processed marijuana bud, Caw said.
