Kitten Vaa, a second-grade teacher at the private Brighton School in Mountlake Terrace, was recently named a recipient of a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, one of the nation’s highest honors for teachers of math and science.
Honorees receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation, a certificate signed by the president and a trip to Washington, D.C., for a celebration and teacher training programs.
