MILL CREEK — Police have learned that a mysterious white powder left in and around city parks over the weekend was nothing more than flour.
Reports of the powder created enough public safety concern that the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab was asked to analyze and identify it.
After police asked for help identifying the substance and who left it, an anonymous caller reported that it was flour that had been used to mark a running route.
Lab tests confirmed the report.
“The running group fully understands the impact of their activity on the community,” police wrote in a Monday press release.
