LONDON — A British Airways jumbo jet carrying 296 passengers has made an emergency landing at Heathrow airport shortly after taking off.
The airline says the Boeing 747 bound for New York had to turn back to the London airport because the handle on one of the cabin doors was moving.
It says the plane turned back to the airport Saturday as a precaution. The airline says “at no time was the door open.”
BA is launching an investigation.
The flight landed safely at the airport and passengers were moved to another plane.
