LYNNWOOD – The names of two men killed in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night have been released.
A man trying to cross Highway 99 was struck by a motorcycle about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was identified as Carlos Alberto Garcia, 32, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Chief investigator Leon Reichle listed the man as being from Colorado, but witnesses to the crash said the man had recently moved to Lynnwood from Denver, Colo.
The motorcyclist was identified as Jeremy Molinda, 19, of Everett.
Molinda apparently did not see Garcia, who was trying to cross the busy four-lane highway in the 18300 block to ask his family about purchasing a car at Tequila Motors.
The impact of the crash threw Garcia at least 80 feet, witnesses said, and caused the motorcycle to slide blocks. Both men died at the scene.
Mount Lake Terrace: Cause of death reported
A man who struggled with Mountlake Terrace police in September died of a drug-induced heart attack, the county medical examiner’s office reported.
Randall H. Dobbins, 49, of Snohomish, died of a heart attack induced by acute intoxication because of a combination of cocaine and methadone in his system.
Dobbins died during a struggle with police Sept. 4 after trying to run from a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex, police reported. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance complaint just before noon at Creekside Village, 4208 236th St. SW, officials said.
An officer tried to control Dobbins and a citizen stopped to assist the officer, officials said. Another police officer then arrived. Moments later, the man stopped breathing, Everett police said.
Officers tried to revive the man, and paramedics were summoned. Resuscitation efforts failed. Dobbins died at the scene.
