CHEHALIS — Toxicology reports show that a brother and sister found dead at their Napavine home in February died of prescription drug overdoses.
Lewis County Coroner Warren McLeod ruled the death of 59-year-old Robert Collier a suicide. The manner of death for 50-year-old Cheryl Ausland was undetermined.
The sheriff’s office says it’s unclear whether her overdose was intentional or accidental.
The Chronicle reported investigators believe Ausland died before her brother. The bodies were found Feb. 18 after Ausland failed to show up for work.
McLeod said Collier overdosed on the pain medication fentanyl and sleep aid zolpidem. Ausland also overdosed on those drugs as well as the antidepressant nortriptyline.
