Three dimensional mammography is now available at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland.
The new technology is billed as giving radiologists the ability to better spot breast abnormalities that may indicate cancer.
This can help better interpret the mammography results for women who have dense breast tissue as well as those with a history of breast cancer.
The better images reduce the need for follow-up appointment by up to 40 percent, according to the hospital.
