ARLINGTON — Arlington High School has a new principal.
Christine Hinojosa, previously the assistant principal, took over as interim principal in mid-September. She replaced Brian Beckley, who resigned after six years as principal to take a job with Everett Public Schools. Beckley now is the chief information officer for learning and information technology services there, the district confirmed.
“I gave it a lot of thought,” Beckley said Tuesday. “Leaving Arlington was difficult.”
He worked as an assistant principal in Everett about a decade ago and saw the newly created chief information officer position as a good opportunity. He still lives in Arlington and has teenage children at the high school, so though he’s no longer principal, he will remain active in the school community, he said.
Linda Masteller was chosen as interim assistant principal to take Hinojosa’s place when she moved into the principal’s position.
