TACOMA — A seaplane float has opened near downtown Tacoma on the Thea Foss Waterway.
It can handle private seaplanes or charters flown by the Seattle seaplane airline, Kenmore Air.
The News Tribune reported that the seaplane dock was opened by the Tacoma Waterfront Association and the Foss Waterway Development Authority. The seaplanes take off and land on Commencement Bay.
Without the designated dock, seaplane owners had to make their own arrangements.
