A changing of the guard is set to take place next year in the top job overseeing Snohomish County’s court system.
Superior Court Presiding Judge Michael T. Downes announced Marilyn Finsen’s appointment last week as the next Superior Court administrator. In that capacity, she will be responsible for the court’s downtown Everett operations and Denny Juvenile Justice Center.
Finsen is to replace current administrator, Bob Terwilliger, who plans to retire at the end of 2014. Terwilliger has been in his job since 2007, and before that was elected to three terms as county auditor.
Finsen has worked for Snohomish County for 37 years in various roles. She began with the sheriff’s office in 1978, and joined the Court in 1997 as a project manager when the Denney Juvenile Justice Center opened. In 2003, she was promoted to assistant administrator for Superior Court operations.
