EVERETT – A convicted car thief released from prison nine days ago is behind bars again, suspected of driving a stolen car and leading police on a brief pursuit.
A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy spotted the stolen car shortly before 3 p.m. in the 15400 block of Highway 99 and tried to stop the man, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
After a short chase, the man stopped the car and ran, leaving a woman passenger behind, she said. The woman allegedly tried to climb behind the wheel and flee, but was arrested.
Deputies searched for the man, who was sniffed out in a nearby trailer park by Taz, a sheriff’s office dog. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and eluding police.
Monroe: Flasher case photos investigated
Two men are under investigation for allegedly using their cellphone cameras to take photographs of teenage girls exposing their breasts.
One of the girls, 15, told Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office investigators the men offered her a free jester hat to flash them, according to a search warrant filed in Everett District Court on Friday.
The other girl, 16, reported that one of the men told her he planned to post the photo on a Web site, court documents say.
One of the men is a registered sex offender in Arizona, according to court documents, and the other one is a convicted felon.
