Bobby Brown denied Wednesday that he had a mild heart attack, something his attorney said earlier he had suffered this week in Los Angeles.
The 38-year-old singer told Associated Press Radio that he is feeling fine and went to the hospital just for a checkup.
“None of it’s true,” Brown said. “I went in for a checkup. The doc gave me a clean bill of health.”
His account differed from that of his Atlanta attorney, Phaedra Parks, who earlier in the day said Brown had severe chest pains Tuesday night and was taken to two hospitals.
“This morning they did diagnose him as suffering from a mild heart attack … they attributed to stress and diet,” Parks said, noting that she had spoken with him.
She said Brown was released Wednesday morning from a hospital in good condition.
Britney’s ‘Blackout’ due out early
Britney Spears’ “Blackout” is coming sooner than expected.
The pop star’s eagerly anticipated new album will be released Oct. 30, Jive Records announced Wednesday, citing Internet leaks as the reason the date was moved up from Nov. 13.
Jive said it “is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs,” including the leaking of “unfinished material and demos represented as completed legitimate songs” to the Internet.
Spears’ new song, “Gimme More,” is the first single from “Blackout.” It is rising on the music charts — jumping from No. 68 to No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 last week — despite the pop star’s personal woes.
Prince William to fly choppers
Prince William, the second in line to the British throne, will be temporarily assigned to the Royal Navy and to the Royal Air Force next year, Buckingham Palace said Wednesday.
The 25-year-old prince will learn to fly helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft as part of a four-month tour with the RAF that starts in January. In the summer, William will spend time learning about the military’s submarines, surface ships and the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm, the palace said.
David Hasselhoff has relapse
David Hasselhoff was released from a hospital Wednesday after being treated for alcoholism, his publicist said.
“David had a brief relapse and immediately recognized the importance of addressing it with the assistance of his doctors,” Judy Katz said in a statement.
The 55-year-old actor had gone to the hospital Tuesday, she said.
A judge in June ordered Hasselhoff not to drink alcohol as part of a custody dispute between the actor and his ex-wife, Pamela Bach, over their two teenage daughters.
‘Lost’ actress gets jail time
Former “Lost” star Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail for failing to complete community service and alcohol monitoring as part of her probation from a previous drunk driving incident.
Rodriguez appeared before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daviann L. Mitchell, who ordered her to report to the county jail on Christmas Eve, the city attorney’s office said.
Rodriguez “admitted violation of her probation by failing to provide proof of community service and by consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol monitoring device,” City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said.
