LYNNWOOD — Overnight work is set to reduce lanes and close ramps on I-405 for three nights starting Tuesday between Lynnwood and Bothell.
All of the work is scheduled from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Friday.
Southbound I-405 is scheduled to get squeezed into one lane from the I-5 interchange to near Damson Road and mile post 29. When the regular lanes close, vehicles will be directed onto the express toll lanes, which are free to use every night between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
The northbound I-5 ramp to southbound I-405 is set to close and get a detour to northbound Highway 525, Alderwood Mall Parkway and southbound Highway 525.
The southbound I-5 ramp to southbound I-405 is planned to only have one lane open to traffic.
Northbound I-405 travelers could see closures, including the two left lanes near Highway 527 and its ramps, from 11:30 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. A detour for those ramps to I-405 northbound would use southbound I-405 and NE 195th Street to northbound I-405.
Crews contracted by the Washington State Department of Transportation are set to replaced bridge headers and install permanent striping with raised pavement markings.
Work zones could have lowered speed limits that drivers should follow for workers’ safety. Delays are expected.
The work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled.
