VANCOUVER, Wash. — A teacher accused of denying third-graders potty breaks at a Vancouver school will not be disciplined following two investigations.
The Columbian reported that the investigations of a Mill Plain Elementary School teacher came from parent complaints after two girls wet their pants earlier this month. The girls said the teacher refused to let them use the restroom during class.
The class has a rewards system in which students could use play money they earn to pay for bathroom breaks. Evergreen Public Schools says school rules allowed students to always use the bathroom if it was an emergency.
The district says the classroom policy on extra bathroom breaks started in response to numerous class interruptions.
One of the parents who complained says she will not be bringing her daughter back to a school where she was humiliated.
