PORT ANGELES — Officials at Mount Rainier and Olympic national parks are offering free park entry on the Friday after Thanksgiving to encourage people to get outside.
Park officials dubbed the day “Green Friday,” a take on the busy shopping day after Thanksgiving Day known as “Black Friday.”
Entry will be free and most park areas in Mount Rainier and Olympic will be open Friday.
The park superintendents say it’s a good time to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
The parks offer many family-friendly outdoor options such as beaches, trails through lowland forests and snowshoeing in the mountains.
