ARLINGTON — Firefighters from three departments were battling a house fire in the 19,000 block of 51st Drive NE Arlington Thursday night.
Calls were made to 911 after people reported hearing an explosion in the area, fire officials said.
Flames could be seen from the second floor as firefighters arrived around 8:45 p.m., said Chris Badger, a spokeswoman for the Arlington Fire Department.
Crews from the Arlington Fire Department along with Fire District 22 and Marysville Fire Department were on the scene.
The house sustained heat and smoke damage and belongs to a family of three who were not injured.
A youth whose age was not available was home at the time of the fire, Badger said..
The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
