GRANITE FALLS — A small house near Lake Bosworth was destroyed by a fire Tuesday evening.
About 20 firefighters responded around 5:30 p.m. to the 5000 block of Lake Bosworth Lane for a house engulfed in flames, sending an enormous plume of dark smoke into the air about 3 miles south of Granite Falls.
The fire took more than 45 minutes to get under control, Fire District 17 Assistant Chief Bill Dane said.
Nobody was injured.
The house was completely destroyed. It was about 330 square feet, according to the Snohomish County Assessor’s Office.
A house to the north sustained damage to its exterior and to one room. The exterior of another house to the south also was damaged.
Two cats may have been in the house during the fire, Dane said. Firefighters could not account for them.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the cause was unknown. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating.
