Darrington: Town gets another clean state audit
The state Auditor’s Office recently completed its biennial audit of the town’s books and procedures. The town has not received a finding or had any problems in the past seven audits, an Auditor’s Office spokesman said.
“The few comments (auditors) did have are being addressed by updating our antiquated software programs,” town administrator Lyla Boyd said. “We are pleased.”
Granite Falls: Author to speak at library
Author Suzanne Selfors will discuss her new novel “Coffeehouse Angel” from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Granite Falls Library, 815 E. Galena St. Selfors also wrote “Saving Juliet” and “To Catch a Mermaid.”

Marysville: Learn to make a holiday wreath yourself
A class in wreath making is planned for 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. Horticulturist Rachel Zeutenhorst leads the class. Participants will make their own wreaths. The cost is $45, with registration required.

Students offer Friday baby-sitting services
Students and adult chaperones will be available for baby-sitting from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday in the Marysville-Pilchuck High School cafeteria, 5611 108th St. NE. Cost is $15 per child, ages 4 and older. Proceeds will support the class of 2013.
Benefit planned on Saturday for scholarship fund
The fourth annual Jingle Bell Benefit to raise scholarship money is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Marysville Awards and Gifts, 1826 Fourth St. Proceeds benefit the Cindy Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to Marysville high school seniors. Evans promoted schools and died in 2001 from breast cancer.
Stanwood: Come see Santa on Saturday
The Stanwood Chamber of Commerce and Stanwood Area Historical Society plan an old-fashioned Christmas celebration Saturday at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27108 102nd Ave. NW. Photos with Santa, live music, treats and hot chocolate or coffee, museum tours and craft tables are set.
