Arlington: Manga and anime discussed
Teen fans of manga and anime are invited to talk about their favorites at a manga book group meeting set for 3 p.m. Monday at the Arlington Library, 135 N. Washington Ave. Snacks will be provided.
After-school events are sponsored by the Friends of the Arlington Library.

Island County: Ferry board member sought
The Island County Board of Commissioners is looking for someone to complete a term on the state Ferry Advisory Committee for the Clinton Terminal.
The Ferry Advisory Committee is an unpaid, volunteer board that meets occasionally to discuss the needs of ferry riders. Those concerns are then relayed to lawmakers in Olympia.
County Commissioners appoint six committee members for four-year terms, three for the Clinton ferry terminal and three for the Keystone ferry terminal.
The open position’s term runs until Aug. 31, 2010. The deadline to apply is March 27.

Marysville: Rotary donates dictionaries
Nearly 1,000 third-graders in the Marysville School District are scheduled to receive dictionaries from the Marysville Rotary today.
For the third year, the Rotary bought dictionaries for students to use in their studies, with the goal that the dictionaries will help improve literacy.
Rotarians are scheduled to visit schools today to distribute the dictionaries. Extra copies will be given to school libraries.
Stanwood: Review AIDS curriculum
The Stanwood-Camano School District will meet with parents to present an overview of the curriculum used to teach HIV/AIDS prevention on March 3.
The HIV/AIDS prevention curriculum is taught to students in fifth through 12th grades.
The meeting will be in the Stanwood Middle School Library, 9405 271st St. NW.
The schedule for reviewing the curriculum is from 6:20 to 6:50 p.m. for fifth-graders; from 6:55 to 7:25 p.m. for middle school students and from 7:30 to 8 p.m. for high school students.
Attendance at the meeting is important for parents who want to excuse their student from participating in HIV-AIDS curriculum. Forms for missing the unit will be provided.
