Sewer extension project to close gravel parking lot
A sewer extension project scheduled to begin Monday and last until Dec. 15 will close a gravel parking area at First Street and Olympic Avenue near Legion Park. The lot will be used as a staging area for work crews.
Drivers accustomed to using the lot can use a paved city-owned lot immediately north of the gravel lot.

Oso
Oso Fire Department has benefit salmon bake
The Oso Fire Department has scheduled its annual salmon bake and auction Saturday.
The event is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Oso Fire Station, 21824 Highway 530.
Proceeds from the sale will help the all-volunteer fire department of about 15 members purchase and maintain its equipment.
Dinner prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $9 for children.

Marysville
City plans events to remember Sept. 11
The city of Marysville is sponsoring a walk in Everett on Sept. 11 to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in 2001.
Operation Homefront Washington Freedom Walk is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Snohomish County Campus, 3000 Rockefeller Ave.
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Walkers will receive a T-shirt, small American flag, patriotic pompoms and more.
In Marysville in the morning, police, firefighters and elected officials plan to gather at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St., for a remembrance ceremony. The time for this event has not been set.
