Camano Island

Meteor viewing to follow Cama Beach history tour

Join Sandra Risk Worthington, former owner of what is now Cama Beach State Park, for a walking tour of the historic resort area, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the park, 1880 S. West Camano Drive, Camano Island. Meet outside the store at the park.

If the skies are clear that night, you can stay to watch the Perseid meteor shower with amateur astronomer Gary Worthington, Sandra’s husband.

Outdoor lighting has been kept to a minimum at Cama Beach so the night sky remains dark for star gazing. Bring a beach towel or blanket to lie on, and dress warmly. The meteor watching session probably will last about two hours.
