Arlington: City wins honor for clean water
Arlington water utility supervisor Don Smith accepted an award during the Arlington City Council meeting Monday from Bob James of the state Department of Health.
The Gold Certificate award recognizes the city’s efforts in producing water that meets or exceeds health standards during the past 10 years.
Arlington’s is among only four water treatment plants statewide receiving the Gold Award for consistently producing high-quality water, said James Kelly, city public works director.
Smith said the state award could not have been earned without the help of all employees.
