Arlington: Meeting on Smokey Point plans
The city’s West Arlington Plan is the focus of a public meeting and workshop at 6 tonight at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd.
Wonder what the Smokey Point area will look like in the future? People are encouraged to come and hear about the plans for codes and the city’s Transfer of Development Rights program.

Turn in Relay for Life donations tonight
Arlington’s Relay for Life to support the American Cancer Society involved nearly 2,000 people and raised nearly $300,000, well beyond the goals set by organizers.
Those who still need to turn in donations are encouraged to do so at 6:30 tonight at the Arlington Haggen store, 26603 72nd Ave. NW.
Granite Falls: Teacher honored
The National Teachers Hall of Fame plans honor its 20th induction class June 15-17.
Five teachers are set to be part of the induction festivities and include Debra Howell, who teaches fourth through sixth grade at Monte Cristo Elementary School in the Granite Falls School District.
Howell and the other inductees are scheduled to arrive in Emporia, Kan. on June 15 and be special guests at Live in the Lot, the city’s outdoor concert series. The induction ceremony is planned on June 17. Howell is the third teacher from the state to be inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.
Lake Stevens: Health and safety fair
The Lake Stevens Fire and Lake Stevens Police Departments plan to host a Health and Safetly Fair on Saturday.
More than 30 agencies are scheduled to be part of the fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Albertsons parking lot at 303 91st Ave. NE.
A variety of informational booths and a few food booths, live entertainment and activities including a bouncy house, face painting and free raffles are all planned as part of the event.
The Lake Stevens Family Center is also set to accept donations of general office supplies during the event.

Marysville: Recycle old electronics
Old, broken, or used electronics can be brought to Pacific Power Batteries in Marysville for recycling on June 18.
Computers, TVs, monitors, laptops, cell phones can be dropped off for free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 720 Cedar Ave. Other electronics may require a small recycling fee.

Stanwood: Shred papers, help teens
Stanwood area people are encouraged to participate in the Windermere Real Estate spring cleaning event from noon to 5 p.m. Friday in the Haggen parking lot uptown.
Community services offered that afternoon include computer and electronics recycling, document shredding and a car wash. Those who use the services are asked to donate to the Davis Place Teen Center at the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center.
