Arlington: Center needs teachers, drivers

Stillaguamish Senior Center is looking for people to teach classes, help with bingo, lead trips and drive seniors on errands.

Darrington: Dance benefits center

Diamonds and Denim, a fundraiser auction and dance, is set for 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Darrington Community Center. Presented by the Friends of the Darrington Community Center, event proceeds benefit upgrades to the community center.

Granite Falls: Talk about budget changes

Changes to the 2010 budget and a discussion of fees collected from gravel pits in the area for driving trucks through town are due to be discussed at a meeting of the Granite Falls City Council tonight.

The work session is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 206 S. Granite Ave.

Silvana: Bingo to support roof repair

The Silvana Fairboard is a bingo night Monday at Viking Hall, Pioneer Highway, in Silvana. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the games begin at 6 p.m. Cost is $10. Proceeds go to help repair the roof of the fair hall, which was damaged in a recent windstorm.

Stanwood: Show your Spartan spirit

Stanwood-Camano Rotary Club is asking businesses, clubs, teams and organizations to participate in the 2010 Summer Parade. The parade, featuring Stanwood Spartans young and old, is set for 11 a.m. Aug. 7 along 271st Street NW. Deadline for entry into the parade is July 9.

Tulalip: Motorcycle cops to ride

The Tulalip Resort Hotel is hosting a motorcycle police officers’ convention Wednesday through Saturday. The 25th annual North American Motor Officers Association Training Conference welcomes more than 200 police riders from Canada and the United States. Most of the outdoor training exercises and competitions are open for public viewing.

Motorcycle officers are scheduled to train and compete in a “Motorcycle Rodeo” skills assessment, other training activities and a memorial ride through Marysville and Tulalip.
