SEATTLE — An attack in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood on Christmas morning has sent two men to the hospital.
Seattle police said one man was stabbed and the other was clubbed over the head when they were attacked by a group of men about 1:20 a.m.
The man with the head injury told police he was chased by three men and hit over the head with an unknown object. Police said the second man gave only a vague description of the assailants, who apparently left in a vehicle.
Walla Walla: Burn ban issued for county
The Washington Department of Ecology issued a burn ban in Walla Walla County because of worsening air quality. Snohomish County is also under a Stage 1 burn ban.
The ban is in effect from 4 p.m. Friday through at least 4 p.m. Saturday. Under a Stage 1 ban, use of fireplaces, uncertified wood stoves and uncertified fireplace inserts is prohibited unless they are a home’s only source of heat.
Ore.: Man accused of stealing patrol car
Portland police arrested a 30-year-old man accused of stealing a patrol car on Christmas Eve.
Police said the car was taken while officers responded to a fight involving roughly 20 homeless people.
The thief crashed the car in a parking lot a few minutes later.
The man was booked into the Multnomah County jail on charges of reckless driving, hit and run, criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving under the influence.
