TACOMA — A 38-year-old surgeon convicted of assaulting a fellow motorist in a road rage incident last year has been sentenced to 90 days in jail. Thirty days of that term have been converted to community service.
Dr. Dennis Geyer was sentenced Friday for his third-degree felony assault conviction.
Pierce County prosecutors charged Geyer after an encounter on State Highway 16 left 61-year-old Robert Speed with a pair of black eyes, a fractured nose and bloody bruises. The surgeon’s lawyer contended at trial that Geyer acted in self defense.
