Marysville Parks and Recreation is accepting applications from businesses, churches, families and other groups who want to be part of the Electric Lights Parade on Dec. 1.
The parade has featured floats, decorated vehicles, Santa Claus and people just walking down State Avenue. Community groups and nearby cities usually enter floats.
“It’s just wonderful for the whole family,” said Andrea Kingsford, recreation coordinator for the city. “For a lot of families, it’s a tradition to come to the Electric Lights Parade.”
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Nov. 26 and can be requested by emailing Kingsford, akingsford@marysvillewa.gov, or found at Parks and Recreation’s ePlay online registration service at www.marysvillewa.gov.
The cost per parade entry is $20.
The parade lineup is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Court parking lot, 1015 State Ave., with judging at 6 p.m. The parade is set to continue on State Avenue south to Fifth Street and end at Comeford Park, 514 Delta Ave.
