Because of rising gasoline costs, The Herald has increased prices for home delivery subscriptions, effective today.
The rate increase amounts to about 2.3 percent over the previous rate, or about 25 to 30 cents per month, depending on the type of delivery service.
The increase will ensure that we can continue to provide quality service to home delivery subscribers.
Prices in stores and newsracks, which are 15 percent to 30 percent higher than home delivery rates, have not changed.
The Herald will continue to offer discounts to seniors, customers who pay for longer than one month at a time or those who use our EZ Pay (automatic debit) program.
Collectively, our carriers drive about 3 million miles per year making roughly 15 million deliveries to homes in Snohomish, Island and Skagit counties.
