President Barack Obama is scheduled to return to Seattle next week to aid Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., in her battle for re-election.
Obama will speak at an Oct. 21 rally in Hec Edmundson Pavilion on the University of Washington campus. Doors open at 9 a.m.
This is the president’s second visit to help Murray who is locked in a close battle with Republican Dino Rossi. Obama visited two months ago and helped raise more than a million dollars for her campaign and the state Democratic Party.
Former President Bill Clinton also is coming to the state next week to assist Murray. Clinton will be in Everett on Monday for a 2 p.m. event at the Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field.
Those wishing to attend either event are asked, though not required, to contact the Murray campaign at 206-286-9199.
Rossi, meanwhile, will headline a rally for Republican candidates at 3:30 p.m. today in Everett.
Congressional candidates John Koster and James Watkins are expected to join him at the Republican Party’s “Victory Center” at 1214 Hewitt Ave.
