Ocean Shores couple charged in death of infant

MONTESANO — An Ocean Shores couple accused of killing a newborn baby are jailed for investigation of assault and manslaughter.

Brittany Taylor and Patrick Parnel appeared in court Monday in Montesano where bail was set at $250,000.

KOMO-TV reported the two 21-year-olds will be in Grays Harbor County Superior Court on Wednesday to face possible charges.

Court documents say they didn’t want anyone to know of the birth so they went to an Ocean Shores motel where the baby was born last Wednesday. They are accused of killing the baby girl and leaving it in a wooded area a few miles away were it was found Friday by a woman walking her dog.

The coroner said the baby died from head trauma.
