GRANITE FALLS — The arrest of a Granite Falls man serves as a reminder of the old adage: Be careful what you wish for?
A Granite Falls police officer pulled over a white pickup as it left a closed park early Friday morning.
The officer recognized the driver, 53, and knew his license was suspended.
The officer found marijuana in the vehicle and a drug-sniffing police dog indicated that there were narcotics inside, according to a police report.
When he learned his vehicle was going to be impounded to be searched, the suspect asked if the officer would mind grabbing his wallet for him.
A baggie containing what are suspected to be illegal pills slipped out of the wallet, according to the report.
That’s when the suspect allegedly exclaimed, “If I would have remembered those were in there I wouldn’t have asked you for my wallet.”
